Attitude Means Everything

I recently wrote a short paper about the effect of a poem about attitude, that it means everything. So many people asked for a copy of the poem that I realize that I ought to share it with everyone who reads my weekly posts, that it could have a positive effect on a great many people.

I originally learned of the poem when Jenn, Johnny, Cabot and Molly Williams mentioned the influence it has had on their lives ever since their dad, Mark, gave it to them years ago.

ATTITUDE
By Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more important I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.

The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change others. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can change is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I respond to it.

Choose your attitude wisely, every day, with an open mind, a generous spirit, and a sense of humor. Life is unfolding as God planned.

May peace and happiness be yours.

Leadership, too, comes from our attitude, especially servant leadership, our wanting to help and guide our team members to learn, grow and succeed.
